6 months of Tales of the Silly Earth.
This Substack started with me posting lengthy texts in the comment sections of writers I enjoy. I still write more in comment sections of proper writers than I do in this newsletter (pointing people toward writers I enjoy). And yet as I reread what I have produced here, I am glad I put in the time and effort. I enjoy the published products (am proud of them, even), and I enjoy the personal development I think I have attained by using this public medium to organise my thoughts.
Perhaps more accurately, Tales of the Silly Earth started when I was trying to process the inescapable conclusions of early lockdown era. I wrote a story emulating George Orwell’s Animal Farm. So I write when it bubbles out. Untrained, unbiased by sponsorship, unexpectant of any role for an audience, but thankful, nonetheless, that you are here as witnesses.
I write mostly about the biggest story of the century - the covid crimes, in basically two categories. As a 6 month summary, they are collated below in case you missed any, or in case you enjoy one particular type and do not want to sort through my vague titles :)
Bitter sarcsasm, which I label more hopefully as satire:
Personal reflections, thoughts, opinions presented more seriously:
