An exasperated magistrate Rob Stary has confirmed once again that the legal system is not for justice. “When will the people of Victoria accept their conquerors as overlords?” he lamented, following a recent ruling that, yet again, civil ‘servants’ are not subject to any of the laws which apply to the people they are oppressing. The magistrate has a history of being inconsistent himself: Initially known for representing persecuted blokes just trying to make an honest quid, Stary briefly turned to defending known terrorist Julian Assange - who famously threatened the entire field of corporate journalism with attempts at investigation of crimes committed by their sponsors.
Stary recently mended his ways when he joined the team of pet justices in Dan Andrews benevolent regime of dictatorship. Thankfully, he was then able to prevent a jury of potentially honest citizens from perverting the course of the court system by throwing out the case of a victim of assault. His grounds for dismissal were many and robust:
1) that the assault was provoked by uncool behaviour like expecting civil liberties
2) the assault was carried out by a police officer who was not acting in his capacity as a public servant, but in his capacity as a sergeant of rebel paramilitary group formerly known as Victorian Police.
3) the paramilitary group was, at the time, conducting a violent coup to conquer and occupy the democratic state of Victoria, so what did you want - a coup without bloodshed?
4) the new regime was sponsored by Pfizer, and was subject to the same indemnity for mass murder that the hostile foreign multinational front for the U.S. department of Defence was privy to.
Nevertheless, Justice Stary did hint that the matter would not end there. He suggested that people interested in the case could keep following while the Victorian Police Professional Standard Command also ensured that none of their core responsibilities were acted upon. A spokesperson for the Victorian Police force said they were communicating closely with NSW Police, who have a wealth of previous experience at thwarting citizens or officers who pursue justice at the expense of solidarity.
The whole farce of a case highlights the ongoing problem of Victorian citizens not really understanding their place in the new world order. In a hastily assembled program, Premier Andrews hopes to address this problem, and quash any further illusions about democracy or equality or rule of law with his public education initiative “One rule for me, another for thee”.
A good summary Shane - well written and amusing,
Stary gives Kafka a run for his money.
