I'm all in favour of safe spaces for venting (which is about the only use for safe spaces that I think is valid) so that we can all manage to continue to engage with those who've bought into the narrative in a polite and constructive way. In the privacy of my own home, I can scream "HOW CAN SO MANY PEOPLE BE SO F*%#ING STUPID?!?!?!?!?" but that's not exactly the best way to win friends and influence people!

Indeed. It is harder than ever to surround oneself with those who inspire us - except on substack, where thinkers abound!
