Well said Shane. I think harder times are ahead and that there is a limit to the decline - and if we don’t completely destroy ourselves - there is potential to return to a more balanced, meaningful and useful experience of being human.

I don’t think I will be here to see that 🤣🤷‍♀️

In the meantime, I seek happiness where it is still achievable 🙏🏽💕

A heartfelt essay, thanks. The outlook does indeed seem bleak, and it’s hard to keep being mostly cheery and happy. So many of the Psalms talk to the injustices perpetrated by the wicked, and personally give me great comfort, especially when they involve retribution. I think that makes me “God-pilled”. Happy Easter 🙂 some of my favourites below:

Psalm 64:6-7 NASB

[6] They devise injustices, saying, "We are ready with a well-conceived plot"; For the inward thought and the heart of a person are deep. [7] But God will shoot an arrow at them; Suddenly they will be wounded.

Psalm 88:8-9 NASB

[8] You have removed my acquaintances far from me; You have made me an object of loathing to them; I am shut up and cannot go out. [9] My eye grows dim from misery; I have called upon You every day, LORD; I have spread out my hands to You.

Psalm 57:4 NASB

[4] My soul is among lions; I must lie among those who devour, Among sons of mankind whose teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue is a sharp sword.

Psalm 59:4 NASB

[4] For no guilt of mine, they run and take their stand against me. Stir Yourself to help me, and see!

Psalm 55:12-14 NASB

[12] For it is not an enemy who taunts me, Then I could endure it; Nor is it one who hates me who has exalted himself against me, Then I could hide myself from him. [13] But it is you, a man my equal, My companion and my confidant; [14] We who had sweet fellowship together, Walked in the house of God among the commotion.
